Open House

What a first week so far! Getting to know all of the students and getting settled into a routine. We have a bunch of faces this year, 25 to be exact. Should be a fun and interesting group to work with. I am looking forward to each school day and getting to know them better and helping them meet their educational goals. Open House is tonight, at 6pm. I am hoping for a good turn out and meeting the families of my students.

Summer is officially over. Time to get back to doing what I love to do, working with kids. I am very excited to get the school year started. Had a wonderful summer with my wife Megan and baby girl Campbell, but it is time to get back into a routine. Looking forward to meeting my new class on Monday. I think it is going to be a great year for both my students and myself as we are going to be learning many new things together. Have a great weekend and we will see you all on Monday!

HOT!

Well, it is July 19th, and I am officially working with my SmartBoard! It is really awesome. I believe the students are going to love working with it this year. On a break from the watermelon field, so I thought I would come in and do some work. Did I mention it is hot? The air condition unit is being replaced, so Lena Dunn is without air for the time being. Boy am I glad that we normally have air because it is VERY hot and sticky. Let's hope it is back on and working full speed in 4 weeks when the students arrive. Take care and stay cool. Smart Board

I have been going into school the last few days, hoping to see our class's new Smart Board there. And would you know today, July 14th, it has arrived! Better news than that is they are said to be installed before the weekend is over. Excited about this very much. Looking forward to hopefully working with it and learning some things that will allow me to use it at the start of school. One month until school begins. Looking forward to what the new year and class will bring.

June

Well June was quite the busy month. Campbell turned 1, big birthday bash, basketball camp, and Fathers Day. Had a wonderful time learning and growing with my family and daughter. Also been trying to get a head start on my Smartboard lessons that I will be using in my classroom this year. REALLY looking forward to bringing in more technology to our studnets at Lena Dunn. I believe it will be a huge success and the students will benefit from emensely. That is, if their teacher learns how to use it!!! Ha...we will all be learning together that is for sure. Even hope to keep up a little better with this blogging as well. Wish us all luck!!!

Summer is FINALLY here! And it is off with a bang. My daughter, Campbell, turns the big "1" tomorrow. Boy I did not know how much work and stress planning a birthday was. Looking forward to celebrating Campbell's birthday tomorrow, and having a great birthday party with family and friends on Saturday. I love you Campbell Rae!!!
